UTERINE LEIOMYOMA IN THE DYNAMICS OF THE LAST TWENTY YEARS: PECULIARITIES OF CLINICAL PICTURE

Keywords
Objective – to make the comparative analysis of uterine leiomyoma (UL) clinical picture in patients, who undergone operative treatment now and twenty years ago. Мaterial and methods. The study was performed in Ivanovo Research Institute of Maternity and Childhood by V.N. Gorodkov. 177 patients with UL who were admitted for operative treatment in 2000–2002 (first group) and 83 patients, enrolled in the study in 2017–2019 (second group) were analyzed. Results and discussion. Average age of patients from the first group was amounting to 36,7 ± 0,54 years, from the second group – 41,6 ± 0,4 years (р = 0,04). 76 % women from the first group with UL suffered from heavy bloody discharges from genitalia, women from the second group reported painful syndrome (63 against 31,1 %; р = 0,000) and reproductive function disorder (16 against 7,3 %; р = 0,04). In patients from the first group the tumor has multiple character, uterus general sizes exceeded 12 weeks of conditional pregnancy in the most part of women; in patients from the second group UL was presented predominantly by single myoma node. Conclusion. Modern patients with UL symptoms were young women with unrealized reproductive function that’s why current strategy of the treatment for this disease had to become reproductively oriented and personified – medicamental one and/or surgical one (myomaectomy).
