CORRECTION OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE AFTER NEW COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS INFECTION

- The new COVID-19 coronavirus infection, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, was first registered in China in 2019, spread throughout the world and resulted in the development of the 2020-2023 pandemic. COVID-19 increases the risk of developing cerebrovascular diseases. The latter led to cognitive impairment, which affects the quality of patients’ life, their ability to work, and in severe cases cause disability. The early prevention and treatment of cognitive impairment can reduce the risk of their progression and the development of dementia in the future. Moreover, the treatment will reduce the severity of existing disorders that will improve the quality of life of patients and their relatives. The literature review is devoted to possible methods for correcting cognitive impairment in patients who have had COVID-19.
