A NEW TECHNIQUE OF POSITIONING THE ACETABULUM COMPONENT OF FEMORAL ENDOPROSTHESIS
- Keywords
- hip endoprosthesis, inclination, acetabulum component
- Abstarct
- Оbjective – to approbate the technique of positioning the acetabulum component of femoral endoprosthesis and the device for intraoperative implant navigation which were developed in a complex. Material and methods. 60 patients with implanted acetabulum components of femoral endoprosthesis of cementless fixation were enrolled in the study. 30 patients composed the basic group where the acetabulum component of hip endoprosthesis was performed by the technique which was developed by the authors. The technique of «free hand» with the application of standard Y- shaped guides was used in the comparison group (30 patients). Results and discussion. Average inclination angles in the basic group were amounting to 45,9 ± 5,7° (35–55°), in the comparison group – 43,1 ± 6,9° (31–58°). These parameters in all patients of the basic group were in safe range – 35–55°, in the comparison group they went beyond the limits in 4 cases (р < 0,05). The duration of the operations in the comparison groups did not differ trustworthy. Conclusion. The developed device and new technique of positioning the acetabulum component of hip endoprosthesis allowed to increase the accuracy of implant positioning without increasing the duration and traumaticity of operative intervention.
