PROVISION OF HIGH-TECH MEDICAL CARE TO WORKING-AGE MALES IN ASTRAKHAN REGION

- The necessity of preserving working potential is one of the priority areas of state policy in modern Russia; and a special place belongs to male population which is characterized by high mortality rate and shorter life expectancy. It is necessary to provide them with specialized and high-tech medical care (HTMC) in time in order to improve demographic situation and to increase the number of labor resources. Objective – to analyze volume and structure of HTMC provision to working-age males – the residents of Astrakhan region. Material and methods. The retrospective continuous study was carried out within the period from 2010 to 2021. 11749 cases of HTMC provision to working-age males aged 16–60 years – residents of Astrakhan region – were analyzed. Results and discussion. The number of working-age males in Astrakhan region decreased by 61 977 persons within the studied period. The number of HTMC provision increased by 1,3 times; medical care was provided in 14 profi les and more often (in 69 % cases) in the region. The general profi les were as follows: cardiovascular surgery (58,5 %), oncology (10,0 %), traumatology&orthopedics (10,8 %). Among the hospitalization results in the most part of the patients the following data were registered: «improvement» in 89,7 % cases, «recovery» – in 6,8 % cases, fatal outcome – in 0,6 % cases. Conclusion. It is necessary to increase the volumes and to expand the number of HTMC profi les provided in the region in order to fully supplying the working-age males with requested kinds of medical care
