PARENTS READINESS TO THE APPLICATION OF MINOR INVASIVE TECHNIQUES OF CARIES TREATMENT IN CHILDREN AS A MEAN OF ITS SECONDARY PREVENTION: SOCIAL AND HYGIENIC ASPECTS

- The result of minor invasive techniques in caries treatment mainly depends on medical, preventive, hygienic activity of children and on parents monitoring the observation of oral cavity examination regimen, correct and complete realization the recommendations upon personal hygiene of oral cavity. Objective – to estimate the medical knowledge level of parents upon the specificity of minor invasive techniques in caries treatment in children and their readiness to imply these techniques from the position of the formation proper hygienic, preventive and medical activity. Material and methods. 402 parents were enrolled in the social and hygienic study by inquiry technique and semistandardized interview; their children with caries were treated by minor invasive techniques. Results and discussion. Incomplete and nonsystematic observation of dentist recommendations especially in correct personal hygiene of oral cavity and terms of dentist control consultation was proved to be rather important problem. It was caused both by parents oversight (insufficient control, overestimation of children possibilities, forgetfulness) and by dentist incomplete and available motivation and information for understanding (rare mentioning at the consultation about monitoring means in teeth cleaning duration and additional hygienic means, insufficiently available for understanding information about professional teeth cleaning and control examinations). But parents rather highly estimated the usefulness of all submitted information practically. Conclusions. The obtained results testified to the necessity of working out some new organizational approaches to the realization of caries secondary prophylaxis in children by minor invasive techniques in the sphere of information attendance of this activity.
