- Actuality. Intercarpal ligaments injures in fractures of radial bone distal metaepyphisis are badly revealed in X-ray examination, frequently misestimated by radiologists and surgeons and might have some negative influence on the efficacy of therapeutic and rehabilitation processes. Objective – to evaluate the informative level of wrist contrast arthrography for detection of intercarpal ligaments injures in fractures of radial bone distal metaepyphisis in comparison with standard X-ray examination. Material and methods. Contrast arthrography and wrist contrast X-ray examination were performed in 49 patients with fractures of radial bone distal metaepyphisis. Results and discussion. Injures of intercarpal ligaments in 18 from 49 patients (36,7 %) were found in contrast arthrography and it allowed to reveal concomitant injures of hand joint in 8 patients supplementary (16,4 %). Isolated injury of navicular- semilunar ligament was diagnosed in 10 (20,3 %) patients, semilunar-trihedral ligament – у 4 (8,2 %), ligament combined injures – in 4 (8,2 %). Conclusions. Contrast arthrography of hand joint was proved to be available and informative for detection of fresh trauma of intercarpal ligaments in radial bone fractures.
