- Objective – to assess the epidemiological and epizootic situation regarding natural focal and zoonotic infections in the Ivanovo Region. Materials and Methods. A retrospective analysis of 10-year surveillance data from the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) for the Ivanovo Region was performed. Results and Discussion. An unstable epidemiological trend was observed for hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), with increasing case numbers attributable to intensified epizootic activity. Among tick-borne infections, tick-borne borreliosis (Lyme disease) remains the most significant concern. The situation regarding tick-borne encephalitis, tularemia, brucellosis, rabies, leptospirosis, and pseudotuberculosis remains favorable. Conclusion. The incidence of HFRS is rising, warranting heightened clinical awareness not only among infectious disease specialists but also among general practitioners, ophthalmologists, and neurologists. The absence of reported cases for certain infections should not be interpreted as evidence of natural focus extinction or justification for discontinuing preventive measures.
