- A typical case of the treatment for breast cancer (BC) was described – radical mastectomy and adjuvant radiation therapy – with the development of post-mastectomy syndrome (PMES). A patient underwent the third (ambulatory) stage of rehabilitation. Practical application of International classification of functioning (ICF) was demonstrated in order to estimate the efficacy of this stage of rehabilitation. The usage of ICF categories allowed to reveal the main problems of the patient in full, to substantiate individual program of rehabilitation, to evaluate the efficacy of separate components of rehabilitation impact and full rehabilitation program objectively, to improve her quality of life. At the same time this observation showed the uncertainty and ambiguity of the approaches to ICI application and it stipulated the necessity of their improvement in rehabilitative practice.
