- The authors presented the assessment methodology for unevenness of the relative lengths of the lower limbs; it was based upon the comparison of vertical sizes of the opposite acetabulum cavities, vertical sizes of proximal sections of the opposite femurs and also the levels of location of the opposite femurs regarding the pelvis according to the data of direct radiograph of pelvis and both femurs. Six variants of the ratio of the above mentioned vertical indicators opposite to femurs were described, more frequent variants were revealed on the basis of the analysis of 425 cases of HJ primary total endoprosthesis. This methodology allowed to select optimal sized of implant components, to calculate selected component planting depth when planning HJ total endoprosthesis and it might improve the postoperative functioning of the implanted joint.
