MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL REHABILITATION SYSTEM IN CHILDREN WITH VERTEBRO-CEREBROSPINAL INJURY IN RUSSIA

- Medical rehabilitation of patients with vertebro-cerebrospinal injury (VCSI) is the process which is directed to prevention of invalidism, secondary prophylaxis of complications, maintenance of independence from their associates, and increase of medical aid efficacy in the whole. Up-to-date research data concerning the organization of rehabilitative measures for such patients in Russia are presented. The detailed information on three-stage system of medical aid rendering in this country is adduced: I stage – primary medicosanitary and specialized, including high-tech, medical aid, II and III stages – aid upon «Medical rehabilitation» profile. Anatomic and physiological peculiarities which influence on trauma course in children in contrast to adult patients are elucidated in detail. Modern rehabilitation tasks and principles which improve quality of life and integration of patients after VCSI into professional and social environment are mentioned.
