- The aim of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the epidemiological, clinical, and therapeutic features of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in children from the Ivanovo region over a 23-year period, with an assessment of the effectiveness of different treatment methods. Material and Methods. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 191 cases of ITP in the Hematology, Chemotherapy and Oncology Department of the Ivanovo Regional Clinical Hospital between 2000 and 2023. Clinical data, laboratory parameters, and initial therapy were collected and analyzed. Results and Discussion. During the analyzed period, 158 patients with acute (82.7 %) and 33 patients with chronic (17.3 %) immune thrombocytopenia received treatment in the Department mentioned. There were no significant gender differences among the patients. Historical changes in approaches to treatment of immune thrombocytopenia were noted. Conclusion. Most of the children hospitalized with immune thrombocytopenia had a newly diagnosed form of the disease. Immune thrombocytopenia was most common in infants and preschool-age children. More than half of those hospitalized had a severe course of the disease.
