- The objective is to identify physical development (PD) characteristics of children with chronic adenoiditis (CA) compared with their healthy peers and children with reduced resistance. Material and Methods. The study involved 256 children aged 4–7 with a verified diagnosis of CA, their physical development being assessed. There were 160 children with reduced resistance who had eight or more respiratory diseases a year or respiratory system diseases with complications in the control group, and 96 children with normal resistance without chronic diseases. Results and Discussion. Children with CA have an asthenoid somatotype 3 times more often than their peers with reduced and normal resistance; the half of them had microsomia. They also have abnormalities of stunting and body weight deficiency more than twice compared to frequently ill children (FIC) and 3 times more in comparison with healthy ones. This fact should be taken into account while monitoring a child with CA to form recommendations for FR optimising.
